Morgan Luttig, Ph.D. is a dynamic choral conductor, music educator, and clinician known for her philosophy of "make serious music unseriously." She currently serves as Director of Choral Activities at the University of Alabama where she conducts University Singers, Treble Chorus, and Druid City Chorus, while overseeing undergraduate and graduate conducting programs. Her innovative approach to teaching earned her a Tide Teaching Grant and SEC Faculty Travel Grant for 2024-25 and has nearly tripled the enrollment in the University of Alabama choral program.

Under her leadership, the UA Treble Chorus, a non-auditioned treble ensemble, was selected to perform for the 2025 National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO) Conference in Fullerton, CA. The UA University Singers were accepted to perform for the 2025 Alabama Music Educators Association (AMEA) Professional Development Conference and also performed by invitation for the 2024 Alabama Vocal Association All-State Choral Convocation. University Singers additionally received second place in the 2025 American Prize Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for the Performance of American Music, College/University Division (large program). In its inaugural 2024-25 season, Druid City Chorus was invited to perform alongside the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and presented Louis Vierne's Messe Solennelle for choir and two organs in Fall 2025.

Active in research and creative activity, Dr. Luttig received the University of Alabama 2026 Presidential Research Award for Emerging Scholar in the Arts and Humanities as well as the Dr. Kathleen Cramer Award. She was also one of six conductors selected for the 2026 International Conductors Exchange Program with Portugal. Inspired by her work with choirs across a range of ages and settings throughout her career, her research on play in the choral rehearsal, conducting pedagogy, innovative programming, student engagement, and score study have led to presentations and research posters at ACDA and NAfME professional development conferences.

As a conductor and clinician, Dr. Luttig has led honor choirs, clinics, and choral festivals at the state, regional, and district levels throughout the United States. Additional invited conducting roles include work with the Princeton Girlchoir and Princeton Boychoir, Westminster Neighborhood Children's Choir, RISE Chorales, and Savannah Children’s Choir. Her own choral singing experience includes performances with the Festival Singers of Florida, Florida State University Chamber Choir and University Singers, and Westminster Choir College Kantorei, among others.

Prior to her current role, she served as Visiting Choral Director at Washington and Lee University, where she led an international tour of Scotland. She also previously taught K-12 choral and general music in Savannah, GA, and Princeton, NJ. Her commitment to the choral arts extends beyond the classroom through active service with the American Choral Directors Association, where she serves as Southern Region Membership Chair and in conference planning positions. She also serves as Associate Editor of Recording Reviews for the National Collegiate Choral Organization's (NCCO) publication, The Choral Scholar and American Choral Review.

Dr. Luttig holds a Ph.D. in Music Education (Choral Conducting) from Florida State University, where she received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. She also earned a Master of Music Education (Choral Emphasis) from Westminster Choir College and a Bachelor of Music from Washington and Lee University.
